Where Resonance fits in the series
The A Plague Tale series currently spans three games: A Plague Tale: Innocence (2019), A Plague Tale: Requiem (2022), and now Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (2026). Resonance is a standalone prequel set 15 years before Requiem, starring Sophia, the plunderer who helped Amicia and Hugo in Requiem. It doesn't require prior knowledge, but it recontextualises the series' curse: the "Macula" that infected Hugo and Basilius has an earlier origin on Minoan Crete.
Unlike the stealth-and-rats survival of the earlier games, Resonance is a melee-first action-adventure with parry-based combat and light puzzles. If you're coming from Requiem, expect the atmosphere, but a different fight.
