What each Blade actually does
The eight swords are not cosmetic. The Falchion rewards aggression with extra damage after critical strikes; the Greek Sword turns your critical strike into a crowd-clearing sweep; the Sica keeps your Focus gauge topped up; the Khopesh adds damage over time; the Broken Spear pierces shields; and the Xiphos trades your block for much stronger parries. The Rusty Sword is the starter blade with no special effect, and the DLC Hero's Blade mirrors the Falchion.
Because perks change your rhythm, the practical advice is to read each Blade's perk before equipping it for a boss or arena fight. The Greek Sword and Xiphos have the most visible playstyle shifts, while the Khopesh and Broken Spear are the safest general-purpose upgrades.
Where Blades are hidden
Most Blades come from Hero Graves, puzzle graves that ask you to solve a small light or symbol puzzle before the Blade is released. The two story Blades (Rusty Sword, Falchion) unlock automatically and cannot be missed. Chapters 3, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 14 contain no Blades at all, so the hunt is concentrated in the middle of the game.
Trophies tied to Blades
- Plunderer: collect all 8 Blades from the Heroes' Graves.
- Adaptable: kill at least one enemy with each Blade.
- The DLC Hero's Blade is excluded from both trophies.
Blade FAQ
- Can I re-fight with old Blades? Yes. Once collected, Blades stay in your arsenal and can be re-equipped.
- Does the Heritage Pack change the Blade hunt? It adds a ninth sword but no extra trophy.
- Are Blade perks tied to the skill tree? No. Blades are a separate system from the Resonance Points skill tree.
