Chapter 2 overview

Felons takes the story from the Plunderers' Den to Venice during carnival season. Sophia is hunting the traitor who betrayed her crew and burned her home, and the chapter moves through the festival district as the pursuit turns into a chase. It also gives you your first grappling hook and the second Blade of the game.

Walkthrough by subchapter

SubchapterWhat happens
InfiltrationFollow the opening route into Venice. You are looking for the man who betrayed the Plunderers' Den, and the level teaches the basic crowd and rooftop traversal.
The CarnivalThe festival streets. This is where you pick up the Falchion from a barrel beside the boat after following the cloth markers to the church.
Rates in a BarrelA short sewer-style stretch named after the rat-packed barrels. Expect cramped spaces and light stealth.
On the RunThe chase section. You are hunted through the district after the betrayal is exposed.
InfernoThe chapter closes with fire spreading through the streets. Keep moving and use the environment to escape.

The subchapter list comes from gamerant's chapter structure and matches how launch guides break the level. The main flow is linear: infiltrate, hit the carnival, pass the rat-filled barrels, get chased, and escape the fire.

The Flag of Venice is the one people miss. It sits on the dock to the right before the bridge, and the flow of the level pushes you straight across. Nothing here is permanently missable, though; every item can be collected again through chapter select.

The Falchion and its perk

The Falchion is Blade 2 and unlocks during The Carnival without a puzzle. Its perk is Momentum Strike: after a critical strike you deal bonus damage. That makes it a straight upgrade over the starter Rusty Sword for most fights, and it is the first real taste of the perk system that the Hero Grave Blades build on later.

Puzzles and new mechanics

Chapter 2 introduces the grappling hook. You use it first to pull enemies and later to reach rooftops and shortcut ledges. The only real puzzle-adjacent moment is reading the cloth markers through the carnival, which are a breadcrumb trail rather than a brain-teaser. If you get stuck in the church area, follow the cloth, not the crowd.

Combat tips for Felons

  • Pull the archers down with the grappling hook before they get a clean angle on you.
  • The carnival streets are wide; funnel enemies into the alley mouths so you never fight surrounded.
  • During Inferno, do not stop to fight. The fire closes the level behind you.
  • Spend any Resonance Points you picked up before the chapter ends; they only save to the next checkpoint.

Missables and trophy notes

Chapter 2 has no chapter-exclusive trophy. It feeds the global collectible trophies: Plunderer for the Blade, Hoarder for the Artefacts and Superstitious for the Charms. The only genuinely missable progress in the whole game is Resonance Points, because they do not carry over through chapter select. Chapter 2 has at least one Resonance Point area, but launch guides have not published an exact chapter count, so treat any pickup you see as one to grab.

If you are following the full walkthrough, the natural next stop is Chapter 3: Those Before Us, where the island ruins start and the Artefact count jumps to six.

FAQ

Where do I get the Falchion in Chapter 2?

In The Carnival subchapter. Follow the cloth markers to the church and interact with the barrel beside the boat. It unlocks automatically and is not missable.

Is the Flag of Venice missable?

No, but it is easy to pass by. It sits on the right-side dock before the bridge, and if you cross first you need chapter select to go back.

How many collectibles are in Chapter 2?

Five: the Falchion Blade, Flag of Venice and Bull Mask Artefacts, and 2 Charms. One of the Charms is a Bracelet (1/5); the second Charm is not named by the sources we use.

Is there a boss in Chapter 2?

No. The chapter ends with the Inferno escape. The first real boss fights come later in the island trials.
